WITS 2005 Author Guidelines
RESEARCH PAPERS
We solicit condensed research papers addressing issues concerning the
theory, design, development, evaluation, and application of
advanced information and communication technologies and systems. Research
topics include, but are not limited to:
- Agent-based Systems and Autonomous Computing
- Authentication and Trust
- Collaboration Systems
- Conceptual Modeling
- Data Warehouse, Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery
- Database Modeling, Technology and Systems
- Distributed Computing
- Economics-Based Systems Design
- Emerging Technologies
- Enterprise Systems and Architectures
- Heterogeneous databases and information integration
- Human-Computer Interaction
- Information Personalization Technology
- Information Quality
- Information Security
- Intellectual Property, Privacy, and Assurance
- Intelligent/Expert Systems
- IT Applications such as CRM and SCM
- Knowledge Management Technologies
- Mobile Commerce and Wireless Technologies
- Service-Oriented Computing
- Software Engineering
- Systems Analysis and Design
- Web Content Management
- Web-Based Information Systems
- Workflow Technologies and System
Selection for presentation at the workshop and publication in the
proceedings will be based on originality, contribution to the field, and
workshop interest. An important criterion in evaluating the submission is
the preference for a problem-driven approach, and papers presenting
techniques without demonstrating how they can be applied in the IS/IT
context are not encouraged. Since it is a workshop, WITS actively solicits
papers describing novel research ideas that may be at a relatively early
stage of development. Authors of selected research papers will be invited
to submit complete versions of their work for possible journal publication
after the workshop. Past WITS special issues include INFORMS Journal on
Computing, Decision Support Systems, and Information Technology and
Management. Research papers must be submitted in electronic form (in DOC
or PDF) using the WITS'05 Submission system at http://wits2005.ecom.arizona.edu.
TYPESETTING
Submitted papers are limited to six 8.5" by 11" pages with single-spacing,
Times New Roman 12-point font, and 1" margins on all sides (including
tables, figures, and references). All submissions will be reviewed double
blind, and therefore author names and affiliations should be excluded from
the original submissions.
CAMERA READY VERSION
The camera-ready copy is due by October 17, 2005. The authors are expected to consider the suggestions and comments made by the reviewers when preparing the final submission.
Please submit an electronic version of your paper either in Microsoft Word or in PDF format using the WITS 2005 Submission System.
The paper must be single-spaced and single column, prepared using at least 11-point font, formatted for 8.5 inch by 11 inch paper, with 1 inch margins (top, bottom, left and right) and cannot exceed 6 pages including the abstract, text, figures, tables, and references. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE PAGE NUMBERS IN YOUR DOCUMENT. The page numbering will be done during the compilation of the proceedings. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in your paper not being included in the Proceedings.
PROTOTYPES
Research prototypes provide an opportunity to showcase new research ideas
and emerging technological solutions. We encourage
submissions that describe the purpose and functions of the prototype system in one page using the same typesetting as research papers
given above. Please email your prototype submission to the prototype
coordinator Dr. Daniel Zeng <zeng@eller.arizona.edu> by August 8, 2005.
